The road had now been improved from over the past few years for your convenience.

What kind of road can I expect up to the Plunge?
About 8 miles out of Crouch, the paved road ends as it enters the Boise National Forest. Extensive work was completed on the road in the summer of 2010 and its condition is the best it’s ever been. The posted speed limit on the non-paved road is 25 MPH.

Is the road to the Plunge open all year?
The road in winter is kept groomed as a snowmobile trail and is accessible by snowmobiles only.

In the spring, when is the road open for all vehicles?
It’s usually mid-April before the road is open for regular car traffic. If you’re in doubt of the road conditions, call us at the Plunge at 208.739.3400.
